Aran Blanco, PhD

Senior R&D Consultant and Environmental Researcher

They hold a PhD in Environmental Sciences from the University of Murcia, specialising in Soil Science. They also completed a Master’s degree in Sustainable Use and Management of Mediterranean Soils, and earns a degree in Environmental Sciences from the same university, including an academic stay at Georg-August-Universität Göttingen (Germany).

They work as a technical specialist in GIS editing, providing technical assistance in studies and services related to environmental management and gender-related aspects. They also have experience as a vocational training educator in the field of Industrial Chemistry and is involved in science outreach, delivering talks and seminars on sustainable soil management and circular economy.

Their postdoctoral research was conducted through the Valencian Innovation Agency’s Talent Promotion Programme, leading the TICSOIL project focused on integrating citizen science into soil protection.

Currently, they serve as Kveloce’s representative in the Region of Murcia, with expertise in environmental topics such as circular economy, bioeconomy, and agroecology, as well as public participation processes within projects. They have more than 8 years of experience in drafting and implementing R&D&I proposals at regional, national, and European levels—particularly under Horizon Europe, H2020, and Erasmus+, where they also act as an evaluator for SEPIE. Furthermore, they are part of the KVeloce ERC team, reviewing and preparing mock-ups to support  researchers in ERC proposals (StG, CoG, AdG, SyG, PoC modalities).
