Social integration, especially with regard to newly arrived asylum seekers and refugees, is the cornerstone of a sound migration policy. The role of local and regional authorities in the integration process is crucial: the vast majority of all measures for integration are implemented at the local level. The main objective of EMBRACIN is to create a European network of cities interested in exchanging and adapting the internationally recognised 6 + 6 × 6 scheme, expanding its implementation locally and testing its transferability in different European countries (Italy, Sweden, Slovenia, Greece , Cyprus, Spain).
