The MSCA programme promotes the skills and knowledge of research staff, supporting their development in an international, interdisciplinary and intersectoral context.
The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) programme is a key pillar within Horizon Europe, dedicated to promoting the mobility and professional development of researchers from all over the world at all stages of their careers. This programme focuses on supporting the training of researchers, providing career opportunities both within and outside academia in an international and interdisciplinary environment.
Under this initiative, the MSCA will allocate more than €1.25 billion to fund cutting-edge research through doctoral and postdoctoral programmes of excellence. These projects will not only support the research of approximately 10,000 talented individuals across disciplines and career stages, but will also generate employment and provide career development opportunities both in the European Union and globally.
Through their funding programmes, MSCAs set high standards for the careers of research staff, leaving a lasting imprint on Europe’s research and innovation systems. They also foster collaboration across academic boundaries, increasing the visibility and global attractiveness of participating organisations.
