Thanks to our broad experience in European projects related to education social innovation, KVeloce is taking part together with other seven partners from all Europe in the PlayEurope project.
PlayEurope is led by the Italian enterprise VITECO: Varna University of Management (Bulgaria), Marketing Gate (Macedonia), Eurosuccess Consulting (Cyprus), Universidad Católica de Murcia (Spain), Action Synergy (Greece), Group of the European Youth for Change (Romania), y PEIPSI (Estonia), each of them bringing different experiences and knowledge to find common solutions that benefit and empower young people.
#PlayEurope- EduGames for Active Citizenship is an European project developed within the Erasmus+ Programme focused on promoting the active citizenship among young people through social entrepreneurship and the cooperative enterprise model. This way, it pretends to contrast the reduction of participation in social life observed in the last decades.
The Project has a double purpose: on the one hand, to increase the interest of young people in social issues; on the other hand, to counteract the high rates of unemployment in this segment of the population, which is still too high in some EU countries including Spain. In fact, the project offers a set of tools to support young people in the development of their skills to start a social business, strengthening in addition civic values.
The first step to encourage young people to start their career in social entrepreneurship is to enhance their motivation. Thus, the first product of the project has been the Manual of Success Stories on Social Entrepreneurship, in which ten business experiences all abroad Europe have been collected where the leading stakeholders were young entrepreneurs that addressed big social challenges to develop their own business, exploiting their experiences and strengths and overcoming their fears and weaknesses to turn them in a source of inspiration and encouragement.
The Manual, launched in June 2018 to be read online or downloadable as PDF for free, has a great success in all Europe due to the catchy layout, and the easy language to be understood, and integrated within the training programmes of entities and incubators in the field of social entrepreneurship.
At the moment, the partners of #PlayEurope are working in the second product of the project: The Step‐by‐Step Guide – Become Social Entrepreneur in 7 days that will be also available on the website of the project. Using an edutainment approach, it will contain both theory and EduGames that allow young people to learn crucial basics of essential skills, important to set up a social enterprise.
