It is universally recognized that we live in a rapidly changing world. We are required to acquire and develop key competencies to survive, compete and excel in this globalized and digitized world. The idea of self-growth has also established itself as one of the priorities of the European Commission. Especially after the world was, and continues to be, hit by the global health pandemic as a result of Covid 19, the Union promotes initiatives to promote employability, develop digital skills, skills in entrepreneurship, education and citizenship, socio-educational and personal development , as well as participation in civic and innovative processes.
In response to the Covid 2020 Call of the Erasmus + KA2 Strategic Association that focused on preparation for digital education, the project “Personalized Digital Learning Paths to Foster Social-Cooperative Entrepreneurship” (MyDigiCoop) aims to promote social entrepreneurship. cooperative among higher education students equipping their professionals with innovative online tools and skills to achieve this.
MyDigiCoop brings together three prestigious European universities: the Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences (HUHEZI) of the University of Mondragón – Spain, the Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu (ULBS) – Romania, and the University of Applied Sciences Haaga-Helia ( HAAGA-HELIA) – Finland, and three SMEs with great experience: Senior Europa, SL (Kveloce I + D + i) – Spain; Gestionet Multimedia (Gestionet) – Spain, and the Accreditation Council for Entrepreneurial and Committed Universities (ACEEU) – Germany, to socialize and promote a socio-cooperative mentality among students and educators.
The core elements of the MyDigiCoop project are packed into two tools:
IO 1. An open iterative platform to equip education professionals for the empowerment of socio-cooperative entrepreneurs, which will provide the skills, competencies and knowledge necessary to facilitate the education and training of socio-cooperative entrepreneurs. The online platform will include an interactive digital map, questionnaires and personalized digital learning paths
IO 2. Some guides for the promotion of socio-cooperative entrepreneurship in higher education that will provide guidelines and techno-pedagogical advice based on educational innovation, active methodologies and distance / mixed learning.
Both results will be disseminated and exploited through the event “International Forum of Young Social Entrepreneurs” and a 5-day training event whose focus will be to position itself in the paradigm of social entrepreneurship, empowering university professionals, using the techno-pedagogical advice produced in block 2, and advancing in the “horizontal” skills detected as fundamental in this type of undertaking.
The first official transnational meeting was held on Friday, April 23, 2021. The kickoff meeting was scheduled to be hosted by ULBS in Sibiu, Romania. However, due to travel restrictions arising from the global pandemic, the meeting was held online through Zoom. Despite the limitations of the virtual medium, the meeting was a success, with 16 members of the consortium in attendance. The conversations led to the creation of the strategies that would mark the beginning of the project in order to achieve the best results.
