This is the title of the new research project managed by K-veloce I+D+i: EUROCOORD, an acronym for Best practices for EUROpean COORDination on Investigative measures and evidence gathering, financed by the European Commission’ justice program.
This project aims to generate the necessary knowledge to optimise the implementation of the European Investigation Order in criminal matters. This will be accomplished through the optimisation in the transmission and admissibility of the evidence, as well as the provision to the more relevant agents with the necessary competencies and protocols to ease the cooperation and the admissibility of the evidence in criminal processes in different member states of the European Union. In addition, with the project, a European Observatory of the European Investigation Order will be created, which includes diffusion of good practices in this area. At the same time, it will offer courses and seminaries to professionals of the sector, where knowledge will be divulgated, and results will be generated in the project.
The project counts with a total budget of 493,377 euros, and it will take place through a consortium formed by 4 Universities from Spain, Italy and Poland (Universidad de Burgos, Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Universidad Degli Studi di Palermo and Uniwersytet Jagiellonski). The project is also supported by the attorney general in Spain and the Italian Foundation Rocco Chinnici.
K-veloce I+D+I will support the Universidad de Burgos during the two years of the project, consolidating the relationship with the said university. In fact, this is not the first case of success in this prosperous relationship, as both entities already collaborate in the NOPUNISH project, financed by the same program.
