digi4HEALTH – A Digital VET Toolkit for Promoting the 4th Industrial Revolution in the European Health Sector

digi4HEALTH is a 24-month ERASMUS+ project that seeks to develop a novel digital toolkit by which European VET Trainers and health sector mentors can reach out and assist healthcare professionals and stakeholders to catch up with technologies of the 4th Industrial Revolution. To address these goals this project involves 6 partners coming from Greece, Lithuania, Malta, Romania and Spain and host organisations such as entities ranging from VET Institutions, private technology service providers, an international network of health workforce educators, a health innovation enterprise as well as a technology park with access to expertise in digital and medical technologies.

VALUECARE – Value-based methodology for integrated care supported by ICT

VALUECARE has been funded by the H2020 programme of the European Commission, with the Grant Agreement No.875215.
Healthy ageing along with independent living have become fundamental challenges for Europe as all EU member states (and virtually every country in the world) are experiencing growth in the number and proportion of older persons in their population.
In this framework, Value-based health care s a delivery model in which providers, including hospitals and physicians, together with citizens/patients aim to reach the best citizen health outcomes.
VALUECARE’s vision of healthy ageing is that any older individual in society can live the best life possible according to what they value, facilitated by access to high quality, person-centred, evidence-based and affordable health and social care services, supported by strong and integrated health and social services. VALUECARE partners believe that taking an “enhanced value-based approach”, including not only health but also lifestyle and social care in the concept of value-based care.

COMSALUD – High-impact strategies in Health Communication and in implementing socially relevant health interventions with psyco-social vulnerable groups

The research conducted within the COMSALUD project aims at enhancing the impact of health communication and counselling, awareness-raising campaigns, health education and health literacy programmes as well as the empowerment of psychosocially vulnerable patients and, most important, groups. It is also related to the improvement of the compliance and adherence, self-management skills and decision-making competencies, considering a systemic framework (from the individual level to the public-societal level).

An adequate perspective for chronic diseases aimed at patients at risk of exclusion or vulnerable has a huge influence at the individual level but also a collective impact in the area of public health: further research in sociology and health communication, as a whole, as a multiaxial reality, is needed.

TOOL4GENDER- Tools to support teachers and educational institutions in the prevention of gender violence

TOOL4GENDER aims to prevent gender-based violence and to promote gender equality in school-age children (8-16 years old), providing professionals in the education and social fields as well as families and civil society organizations with tools for training, capacity building and awareness-raising.

In addition, TOOL4GENDER will allow children to self-detect sexist behaviours and values thanks to the development of an App to teach them building healthy relationships with others.

The Erasmus+ Project, with a duration of 24 months, brings together 7 partners from 5 European countries with a wide experience in different areas covering from gender-based violence to education and social inclusion, along with extensive networks that will ensure a great impact and the transference of results to other countries both inside and outside the EU.



FORDYS-VAR: Fostering inclusive learning for children with dyslexia in Europe by providing easy-to-use virtual and/or augmented reality tools and guidelines.

Project funded by the ERASMUS+ programme (European Commission and Spanish National Agency for the Internationalisation of Education, SEPIE)

The main aim of the FORDYS-VAR project is to contribute to the educational inclusion of school children with dyslexia using Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR), improving access, participation and learning achievements of school children with this problem, reducing disparities in learning outcomes.

Consequently, the FORDYS-VAR project will contribute to enhancing the standards of quality in the educational field, promoting the academic success of those school children and the equal access and opportunities for all, increasing the skills and competencies of school teachers and education professionals.

SUSKIDS-Enabling professionals and families to transfer SUStainable Knowledge and skIlls to Down Syndrome individuals

SUSKIDS is an Erasmus+ Project with a duration of 36 months that arises from connecting the education and training of DS individuals in the field of sustainability and the need of raising awareness about new materials produced, through an approach based on the acquisition of new habits through game-based learning, social media, and self-engagement, offering an entertaining method to learn and to promote the autonomy and opportunities of inclusion.
Currently, there is a lack of coherent curriculums and inclusion measures aimed at people with Down Syndrome; who are often pushed to basic professional training programmes. SUSKIDS will design and develop innovative tools to help educators to transfer science concepts through recycling & sustainable construction contents to individuals with DS.

INVESTSOCIAL – Impact Investment – a novel outcome-based financing mechanism to promote innovation and social well-being

Impact investments are those investments that direct capital towards projects with social and/or environmental impact. The double search for profitability and social / environmental impact is what differentiates impact investments from other types of investments. Despite the fact that impact investment is gaining increasing attention and it has now become a relevant issue even on the EU public agenda, there is still much confusion about this emerging market.

One of the most interesting financing instruments in the field of impact investments arising in the field of public administration are the so-called Social Impact Bonds. The Social Impact Bonds are innovative financing instruments based on results (outcome-based financial instruments) with great potential to stimulate innovation ecosystems and face important social challenges in a context in which efficiency and effectiveness of public and private resources is key.

Social Impact Bonds have gained particular attention in recent years as a potential model to address some global social challenges, such as insufficient access to medical care and education, justice, unemployment etc. This new financing model presents a series of advantages, among which reductions in public social spending, the transfer of risks from the public to the private sector; the optimization of the use of public budgets; the increase of the budgets destined to initiatives of prevention, contributing, in this way, to fill a gap that exists in the provision of social services and the adoption of initiatives based on social innovation and the measurement of results. However, at the same time, Social Impact Bonds have also been criticized due to the complexity of the model that, in the opinion of many experts, should be simplified and standardized to streamline and facilitate their management.

Given that the market is still at an incipient stage of development, a greater impetus is needed in terms of information, dissemination and training, to make these instruments widely known and to promote their implementation to address social challenges.

In this context, the main objective of the R&D&I project funded by the Valencian Innovation Agency, INVESTSOCIAL, is to contribute to the state-of-the-art in the field of innovative financing instruments, in particular Social Impact Bonds to favour their penetration in the Valencian region and in Spain given that, despite their relevance and interest in recent years, they have not yet been timely exploited in our country due to their complexity, novelty and the need for training, tools and facilitating strategies for their implementation.

MatchUP – MAximizing the UPscaling and replication potential of high level urban transformation strategies

This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and Innovation programme under grant agreement N°774477.

MatchUP is a large pilot project aimed at transforming cities through innovation and technology at the service of local communities living in complex environments.
Currently, cities tackle problems of pollution, energy consumption and overcrowding, risking to become unsafe and unhealthy place to live. MAtchUP foresees dedicated actions to improve the share of renewable energy, increase the sustainable mobility and invest on technology. The aim is to repaint cities with brighter solutions at the disposal of their smart communities. These solutions will boost local economies and their quality of life. Furthermore will serve as model for replication in other cities and will lead to a urban transformation driven by citizens and stakeholders.

MatchUP will be implemented in Valencia, Ostend, Desden, Skpje, Kerava, Antalya and Herzliya.


BOTSTEM Erasmus+ School Education

BOTSTEM: roBOTics and STEM education for children and primary schools

Funded under ERASMUS+ KA2 Strategic Partnerships for School Education

BOTSTEM will implement inquiry teaching units with a robot-based approach, including code-learning, for enhancing the education in STEM fields. Recent research have demonstrated that early techno-scientific literacy in children as young as 4 years old could improve their long-term achievement in STEM fields and raise the scientific and technological vocations, specially for girls. Competencies acquired during childhood, including design thinking, inquiry, coding and robotics, are transferable to other areas. These skills are applicable to all areas during their whole academic and labour life.

BEST BY DOING: Ho.Re.Ca. skills development in Wellness Facilities

Funded under the Erasmus + KA2 Strategic Partnerships for vocational education and training Programme

The objective of the Best By Doing project lies in applying and expanding criteria of excellence in the professional training of Ho.Re.Ca services (Hotels, Restaurants and Cafes), specifically, within the health and well-being sector (Wellness). Best By Doing proposes a triple interaction between students, vocational training teachers and companies through the platform “Triple-Match Technology” (TMT); especially interesting since it will allow the adaptation of the professional training to the current and future needs of wellness sector.
