Addressing the challenge of building a cooperative network of stakeholders to foster regional innovation systems.
BIO2REG aims to provide tools and practical knowledge to regional stakeholders (SMEs and entrepreneurs, decision makers, regional development agencies, researchers, civil society organisations), empowering them to co-design measures adapted to their specific context for the implementation of technological and social innovations required to achieve the EU Green Deal goals.
The project was launched at the beginning of 2024 in Brussels, where the 9 partners of this Coordination and Support Action (CSA), coming from 8 different countries, took the first steps for supporting the regions in their transition towards model regions in circular bioeconomy.
Among other actions, Kveloce team has developed BIO2REG Public Engagement Strategy integrated in the Dissemination, Communication and Exploitation Strategy led by BIOCOM, who was also in charge of building the project communication channels. BIO2REG Public Engagement Strategy foresees a wide range of activities, framed on different levels of public participation, for which tailored techniques will be selected based on the expertise of Kveloce in co-creation methodologies.
As examples of these public engagement activities, a series of expert workshops are being organised, online or face-to-face, by BIO2REG partners to collect Insights and best practices on different dimensions to the bioeconomy, including funding aspects, social aspects, and education and training.
Besides, given the importance of exchange and cooperation to facilitate the transition, in January 2025 we will start leading the creation of a regions -to-regions network, which aims at identifying and assessing the bioeconomy potentials of the regions based on a Multicriteria Assessment Framework. The network will facilitate knowledge transfer based on a peer-to-peer learning approach and the organisation of mentoring and training services, performed online and during regional and interregional events.

To ensure that BIO2REG achieves the expected goals, our team is currently involved in the development of the Impact Assessment framework that will support the Evaluation of the participatory activities and the progress of regional stakeholders to design and implement transition measures.
